This was a pretty lazy week. It was a fantastic way to start the summer.
Here's what we did:
|
Millie started a little purse making business |
|
Elise was busy crafting, too |
The girls spent the night at the farm while Bud and I went to a parent meeting at the homeschool/charter school thing we are signing the kids up for, next year. Millie spent a lot of time looking for the missing baby kitties. Elise looked for fossils. They had so much fun, they didn't want to come home :)
We had a day of errands, and Elise decided to take her babies with on our walk to Walgreens.
Summer means concerts in the park! Sun Country was giving away sunglasses at their booth. The girls took some, and instantly became spies. It was pretty cute. Elise said, "Mom, anytime you see me posing, take my picture."
We walked to the library to return some (very overdue) library books, sign up for the summer reading program, and check out some books. On the way back we stopped at Rice Park to admire the fountain and to sketch a pigeon. Millie never leaves home without her sketchpad! Further along our walk, the girls hopped into a fountain to get their feet wet.
4-H Carnival night! One of the families brought a petting zoo :) Fun!! We brought in a game in which the kids had to knock down a pyramid of cups with a ping pong ball. We'll think of something more creative for next year. Ha!
We're monitoring a bluebird trail this summer. Another family is volunteering with us, so we took them out to "show them the ropes." It's a big relief to know that we'll only have to do this every other week instead of every week!
That was our first week of summer! It was pretty great. Only one more big event before I can turn my brain off for the summer.
